2010 Conference, March 18-20

Mary Dunn attended the IRC conference in Springfield, Illinois. Some highlights included a session on Vocabulary Instruction: Research to Classroom Instruction featuring presenters from Dunn Consulting, and author Peter J. Wellings's session on How to Create a Children's Picture Book.

International Reading Association Convention

April 25-28, 2010, Chicago, Illinois

During the IRA Conference, Mary Dunn participated in a full-day literacy institute, "Wonder, Mystery, and Imagination, Fostering Engagement Through New and Traditional Literacies, featuring many outstanding presenters, including Kathy Ganske, David Wiesner, Harvey Daniels, Donna Ogle, and Junko Yokota.

Summer 2009
The turquoise waters, azure skies, and verdant foliage of Portugal framed the setting for the European Reading Conference in Braga. Along with more than 400 educators from around the world, I attended literacy sessions and gained insights into the educational research of other countries. It was an enriching experience. Summer 2008

During summer 2008, Mary Dunn attended the World Congress on Reading in San José, Costa Rica. What a great opportunity it was to meet teachers from around the world and acquire new ideas to incorporate into her presentations, especially books about "reading the rainforest."
